Zarrella tested using different call-to-action words across different social media platforms. The results are telling. His research shows that when you use the following words across the following platforms, you’ll get better results.

For blog posts, use:

  • Comment
  • Link
  • Share

For Twitter posts, use:

  • Please ReTweet
  • Please RT
  • Please Help
  • Spread
  • Visit

For Facebook, use:

  • Like
  • Share
  • Comment

It may seem like common sense, but Zarrella’s result prove that when you specifically ask a follower to do something (i.e. like, share, comment, etc.), they’re more likely to do it.
